UN Food Systems Summit 2021

The UN Food Systems Summit 2021 (UNFSS) is to be held in September 2021 is a global summit as part of the ‘Decade of Action’ to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The Summit aims to launch bold new actions to transform the way the world produces and consumes food, delivering progress to all the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Being referred to as ‘People’s Summit’ or as ‘Solutions Summit’.

The Summit has identified five Action Tracks to foster new actions and partnerships and amplify existing initiatives under food systems. These tracks are not mutually exclusive, and are designed to address possible trade-offs with other tracks to identify solutions that can deliver wide-reaching benefits. These are

Ensure access to safe and nutritious food for all

Shift to sustainable consumption patterns

Boost nature-positive production

Advance equitable livelihoods

Build resilience to vulnerabilities, shocks and stress
