About Us

Who We Are?

The Food Future Foundation is an India-based non-profit committed to enabling safer, healthier, and more sustainable diets for all. It works through partnerships across government, academia, civil society, and the private sector focusing on education, research, and advocacy. The Foundation supports transformative shifts in policies, systems, and individual behaviours, putting people and the planet at the centre of change.

Vision

A world where all people are able to enjoy safe, healthy, and sustainable diets, and where food systems protect both human and planetary health.

Mission

To accelerate food systems transformation by promoting food literacy and healthy habits, catalysing innovation, and driving multi-stakeholder collaboration.

Why This Foundation, Why Now?

India stands at a crossroads. Undernutrition and anaemia remain widespread, while obesity and diabetes rise sharply. Climate change strains production, and informal markets, feeding millions, struggle with safety and viability. These are not problems of awareness alone but of demand, design, and delivery. FFF exists to fill this gap.

Our Story

Rooted in the Eat Right India movement, the Foundation extends the government-led momentum into a broader societal effort. We focus on shifting the narrative from:

  • Awareness → Action
  • Isolated pilots → Scalable models
  • Imported ideas → India-led solutions
  • Top-down compliance → A shared culture of safety, health, and sustainability

Our Approach

We turn beliefs into action through a practical, repeatable model that connects the dots across the food system, ensuring ideas are tested, tools are built, partners are engaged, and change is sustained at scale. This model follows five steps:

Link classrooms to kitchens, farms to vendors, and policies to plates to target leverage points.

Run low-cost, high-trust pilots in schools, mandis, canteens, and municipalities.

Turn pilots into practical toolkits: checklists, micro-trainings, QA protocols, vendor scorecards.

Expand via state missions, city programmes, school networks, hospitals, and industry platforms.

Embed in policy and procurement, align incentives and financing, and use data feedback loops to measure → learn → refine.

When these principles move in tandem, food-system transformation becomes both possible and powerful.

Theory of Change

The Foundation’s Theory of Change is based on a clear pathway, from recognising the challenge to realising impact, guided by core beliefs and a practical, scalable approach.

Our Four Strategic Pillars

We work to enable safer, healthier, and more sustainable diets for all—through education, research, advocacy, and strong partnerships across government, academia, civil society, and industry.
